WHEREAS Ontario’s publicly funded education system is facing chronic underfunding, staffing shortages, increasing violence in schools, unmet student needs, stalled collective bargaining, and the continued centralization of decision-making by the provincial government;
WHEREAS students cannot succeed when schools are expected to do more with less, and student achievement and school safety depend on adequate staffing and resources;
AND WHEREAS students, teachers, and education workers benefit when bargaining is efficient, fair, and focused on classroom priorities, and a broken system is standing in the way of meaningful bargaining;
